From Commoner To Noble
Are all noble outfits expensive in real life? Yes, I would say most of them probably are. Then again, that all depends on your point of view. If you have a job that pays as least $12 per hour you should be able to get a nice looking outfit for about thirty bucks.
For those that get paid minimum wage, it is hard work saving up for something that is about that amount. Trust me. I use to work for about $6 per hour in a fast food restaurant. Can a person with minimum wage get a noble costume? Is it impossible? Absolutely not, but it will take some saving up of money. Putting about $5 or $10 into a savings account per week should make the dream of becoming a noble a reality within a month or two.
Getting a fashionable dress with a nice looking necklace around the neck and then showing it off to friends or at a renaissance will be well worth it. The alternative could be to come as a medieval peasant which is not so hot to some people.
Stand Out As Nobility
Instead you could come in as nobility and claim to have may riches and then say, “Don’t touch me. I’m super important.” (Line from the Baldur’s Gate computer game). Then, give a small amount of prop gold to the peasants on the street. Afterwards, you will be given an opportunity to have a fine dinner with the royal family within the royal tent (or castle).
So stand out above the crowd and be above the rest.
Also, do not forget to give to the poor when you get to that status quo as well. I remember people at the job I use to work at in real life told me, “Don’t forget us small people when you become rich one day.” Well, that does not mean you can’t do that in a pretend scenario as well. Do not forget the small fries even in your imagination.
